The goal of Project Living Proof (PLP) is to restore a modest home at 917 Emanuel Cleaver Blvd in Kansas City, Missouri, to exhibit how to make a century-old home more energy efficient.

PLP in the News! Project Living Proof was in a
November 7th article in the Kansas City Star. KMBC Channel 9 News ran a
November 5th story on the house. Greenability highlighted the project in their
Sept-Oct edition.

The home is a demonstration of the
KCP&L Smart Grid which is a combination of onsite energy generation, advanced switches and capacitors, automated meter reading, and other smart technologies that allow for real-time monitoring and management of energy usage. The site's landscaping is a pilot project of the
Sustainable Sites Initiative, a voluntary set of guidelines and benchmarks for sustainable land design, construction, and maintenance practices.
The renovation process began May 2010 and tours of the site
are offered as indicated above. The Metropolitan Energy Center is grateful for donations from
