Ruth Redenbaugh

Grant Manager, Electrify Heartland, Clean Cities

Office: 816-531-7283

Email: ruth@kcenergy.org

Ruth Redenbaugh is a change agent -- she's a catalyst for change. As such, Ruth -- MEC's Grant Manager - has worked to implement innovative products and ideas at MEC. Ruth's curious nature and strong values toward continuous learning and improving the environment has helped raise MEC's profile in the city.

Ruth's current program is Electrify Heartland -- a plan for Greater KC to meet President Obama's challenge to have 1M electric vehicles on the road by 2015. Her previous projects have met with great success.

In 2011 Ruth was asked to administer a $35M Recovery Act project by partnering with energy industry pioneers to reduce petroleum use, create infrastructure and deploy vehicles that use alternative fuels to Mo., Ks., and Ne. Ruth continues to lend her expertise to this project.

Ruth has also used her years of technology experience to lead special projects such as ways of making television more interactive, communication more productive and publishing more sensible.

Sometimes Ruth can be found volunteering her time by assisting neighborhood associations (she's currently an elected precinct committee woman) or gardening - using simple tools and methods -- which she enjoys.

As a hobby, Ruth loves to sew (which she's been doing since 8-years old) and exploring new uses for recycled and organic fabrics -- a job she's always found challenging.
