Janie Frederick is MEC's Financial Manager. She is a CPA whose expertise ranges from bookkeeping and payroll to complex tax preparation and analysis.
Before working at MEC, Janie served as controller for many small businesses and did financial work for several churches. Janie says she loves numbers and is delighted to serve MEC and help care and manage the non-profit's financial complexities and reports.
Janie has led a very varied life. In addition to being married (for more than 20 years) with two young pre-teen children, she's been a business owner, become an ordained minister and worked as a photographer.
Since relocating to Kansas City in 1990, Janie has been very active in the Kansas
City community. She and her husband were among the first group of volunteers to work with Bridging the Gap (a recycling non-profit) to man a drop-off site at 48th and Troost in 1991. She's also started a recycling program at work, participated in the development of neighborhood clean-up programs, worked in environmental education program for kids and participated in Earth Day celebrations.
For fun, Janie enjoys spending time with her family, her church or quiet time with a good book.
