Robert Housh graduated from Baker University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology. He was named executive director at the Energy Center in 1997, after serving 12 years as program director. He contributed to the research and production work on the Missouri Statewide Energy Study and a Missouri study of the impact of the Energy Policy Act of 1992 on the State. He was a member of the Missouri Public Service Commissions' Electric Retail Competition Restructuring Task Force, the Mid-America Regional Council, and the Executive Board of the Kansas City Regional Clean Cities Coalition. In 2003, Governor Bob Holden appointed him to the Missouri Energy Policy Council. He is a founding board member of the Kansas City chapter of the U.S. Green Building Coalition. He now serves on the City of Kansas city, Missouri Climate Protection Task force Work Group, the KC Chamber Commerce Energy Policy Task Force and its Implementation Sub-Group.
