The MEC administers the local Home Performance with Energy Star program,
providing a
Contractor List
for those auditors and contractors trained through our certified program
EnergyWorks KC is an energy-efficiency program funded by the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and administrated by the Metropolitan Energy Center and the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
The MEC manages the local utilities' rebate program. Earn up to $1,200 in bill
credits for energy efficient home improvements.
KC Clean Cities is public/private partnership between local government and
businesses to provide federal funding for vehicles that use biofuels.
As part of the local HPWES program, the MEC provides training and certification
to contractors and energy auditors to qualify them as HPWES approved
contractors.
The MEC administers two of the Sustainable Skylines programs,
Water Wise and
Solar KC. Both programs seek to improve air quality by reducing energy consumption.
